Once again, the British Culinary Federation worked alongside World Chefs in promoting International Chefs Day by hosting yearly masterclasses at the world-renowned Birmingham College of Food.
The theme this year was "Food Explorers", and the masterclass, led by BCF chairman, chef Mathew Shropshall, allowed attendees to follow the Nestlé Toolkit offline and have a go producing dishes using fresh, seasonal and healthy ingredients, within the professional kitchens.
During the past 12 years, the BCF has supported the International Chefs Day for World Chefs alongside chefs from 110 countries around the world in marking and celebrating the special event.
Each year on 20 October, we celebrate International Chefs Day, a tradition founded in 2004 by the late Chef Dr. Bill Gallagher to honor our culinary profession and inspire the next generation.
Worldchefs, in partnership with Nestlé Professional, invited people to embark on a culinary adventure, discovering the joys of cooking, the importance of healthy eating, and the value of sustainable practices. By exploring fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, we can spark curiosity and creativity in minds, nurturing their love for food and the planet.
The day brings together thousands of chefs worldwide in hosting engaging workshops, sharing knowledge, and creating memorable experiences for young people in your community, from a hands-on cooking session, a garden tour, or a fun nutrition activity, inspiring young people to develop a lifelong passion for culinary arts.
